Title: Binge Drinking

Milgod - February 9, 2007 02:28 PM (GMT)
There is clearly a problem with binge drinking in this country, especially with the younger drinkers and women it seems. It seems that people go out just to get pissed. Why can't people in this country have a better attitude towards drinking? They manage to drink just as much on the continent but don't seem to have the problems we do. Is there anything we can do? Or do you think there isn't even a problem?

I've heard a lot about this binge drinking in the press and although I've scoured the supermarkets and off licenses, I can't find a bottle of binge anywhere.

Any idea what it tastes like?

Scampi Fries?

Milgod is right though - and I'm culpable. It's really good on the continent when people go out for a nice meal, a few glasses of wine, and don't end up kicking sh*t out of each other (or at least not living in fear of having the sh*t kicked out of them).

Kids are brought up thinking alcohol is a novelty because they're not 'allowed' it until they're 18. A more mature approach to this would at least remove the novelty value and make young 'uns realise it's not big or clever.

As I said, too late for me.

It's part of our culture, traditionally Brits go out on a Fri/Sat.. drink as much as possible, pick up traffic cones, eat kebabs, fight, puke everywhere and then shag the fattest ugliest bird for a bet, some even marry the fat ugly ones!

The Yanks just wank themselves silly when they've had a can of Budweiser!
