Title: School uniform

Just wondering people's views on this, if you have any. Should school have uniforms or should they go they way of most of the World and lets children wear what they want? There can be arguments either way I guess. Personally I think there should be school uniforms, always made life easier for me when picking what to wear everyday.

Definatly for school uniforms! Children do judge each other by trends, and fashion and money, and I just think school uniform rules out one less thing for some kids to get teased about. It also prepares them for their working life, just getting use to adhering to rules such as uniform etc. And finally I think it gives you a certain "work" ethic when you are in uniform. Like you feel different when dressed up for work, than if in just jeans and stuff, there is a mental element too it.

I definately think the Missus should wear school uniform at least twice a week.
I'll stick with my Lone Ranger and Tonto outfits though.

What she said.
Not having a uniform 'rule' would help promote social exclusion. A 'lets all laugh at him coz he aint got the latest gear' kind of attitude. It helps make everbody equal, imho.

Not that i'm saying there shouldn't be uniform, but the whole idea of no uniform causes dissruption, work ethic etc must be thrown out the window when you think about other countries. They don't seem to have the problems in schools on the continent and they don't wear a uniform.

Definately one for the Uniforms, apart from the Usual not keeping up with the haves and have nots. When one does not have uniform it gets out of hand as where does the school stop about what to wear, some people easily come in Shorts and Flip Flops.
The other advantage with Uniforms is that it is not easy for School Kids to Bunk Off school as they will be in School Uniforms and easily spotted.

As long as they are short, and worn with stockings. suspenders and stilletos on older women, I am in favour too.

School uniform all the way. I'd have to spend a small fortune on clothes for my kids if they wore their own stuff everyday as they'd get bored of it and it would wear out so much faster. At least with uniform there's less scope for having to splash too much cash, although WW jr 1 is now asking me to buy her Miss Sixty trousers for school. No chance at £60 a pair!

Most of the rest of the world isn't as pdeudo-snobbish as the UK.
We could wear what we want for PE at school, the ammount of social exclusion based on what people wore was laughable.
