Title: Tax exiles
Description: From Morley

This is a topic that Morley asked me to put up to see what people think. I have posted morleys words as he seems to feel quite strong about this.

what pisses me of mille is people getting educated in this country then going abroad to a "better lifestyle".

I'm sure it happens with all countries, but i was wondering this......

should a governement class these people as tax exiles, and tax them under uk laws when they come back into this country? or if they ever come back "home" to live should they be made to pay for the cost of the education they got.

As laws stand now, your kids could study free of charge in the uk and become doctors, then as soon as qualified they can fuck off to any part of the world they so wish and the uk tax payer gets nothing back.

is this right or does it need changing?

What do you lot think then? Should people put back in the country that trained them?

Rather than answer that question i'll ask another and the opposite question, should the people who come to this country to work, legally, be expected to repay the countries they have left to work here?

All children should be entitled to an education wherever they live, after they have finished they should be allowed to move wherever they want.

Hmm, what about the jobs that their parents/guardians have whilst putting them through scholl, the tax they pay on those wages, the money they spend in the shops, the NI contributions they pay, the rent/mortgage.

It's all money into the economy.

This includes me I guess.

I have paid substancial corporation tax from successfull businesses and personal tax so have paid my dues.

I am paying NI now to ensure if I decide to come back I can take advantage of the many thousands of pounds I pay and have paid in.

If this was slanted towards our ex colonies and those with a passport not necessarily born here then I can see a point of them at least paying for their education if they do not work in the UK for a minimum time .. try collecting it though.

On this same thread someone who contributes no tax and or contributes to no level expect kids and drugs they get slung out as well ?
