I've got a house-hippo.
Did you ever see the information programmes on the NickleOdeon TV channels? They were basically trying to teach the kids not to believe everything they see on the TV and one of the characters was a house-hippo. It was perfectly formed and only just bigger than a mouse but it could still get into the skirtingboards.
Well, I was so impressed with it and wanted my daughter to believe that house hippo's do exist that I went out and bought one. Took me ages to find it but it now lives in my living room next to a little door built into the skirtingboard.
