Bollox.
End of discussion.

LOL, by the way. Anything to do with Douglas back in favour?

Lee D'su - September 20, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
Must agree with Fitz. I hold my hands up and thought Douglas was over rated, but it seems he holds the team together. Does the simple thing allowing others to be more creative.

ps. This doesn't mean I don't rate Telfer. He's been superb at the back.

I argued with my mate about Douglas loads of times last year coz I didn't rate him but I'm eating my words at the moment. Maybe not being Captain has left him to get on with the job or he's now showing us the player he really is, and consistantly too. The stats don't lie that we've hardly lost with him in the team.
I watched Telfer at the Crewe game and he was constantly talking to the other players even though they (Crewe) posed little threat until the mad 90+ minutes. He certainly reads a game very well. From what I've read in the YEP from McAllister and Kevin Bond, Telfer's boss at Bournemouth last season, we might have landed a gem when he signed for us.

Don't ge tme wrong, don't rate Douglas either, but was interested in opinions as to how he's playing. He does seem to have something, as we seem to be a much better proposition when he plays. Maybe he g*ls the team together, or protects the back 4 better, I don't know, cos he certainly looks shite for Ireland when he plays.

Douglas for me as well even tho i think hes shite. But he clearly does more than we can see.

Delph with his energy and his liking for running at defenders, gives us more to.We now have genuine pace when attacking.

Have said it for a long time Douglas does all the shit jobs and breaks up play and just gets on with it ...

Your all wrong its down to Tresor Kandol.

Other than that, i agree with the aforementioned.

Mugsey - September 21, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
gotta disagree it's more than likely down to douglas freeing up the more talented midfielders to go forward knowing he will have their backs if they lose the ball.

Spot on Mugsey.....Douglas gives us so much more stability when he sits in front of the back four. He allows players like Delph and Killa to do what they do best without the fear of leaving big gaps at the back. Personally, I think Dougy is as key to our team as Beckford is. Beckford gets the goals, but Dougy does so much more than that. He is massivley under rated and under appreciated.
