Anyone else using it? I seem to remember WP mentioning it the other day.
I've been having problems with Firefox this last couple of weeks, being really really slow to load pages...especially my btyahoo mail page, in fact some times it won't load for like an hour!!
Anyway i'm finding Chrome really speedy, but i HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the fact that it shows up your bookmarks on the front page, AND you can't switch them off...i know that 'cos i've been on the forums!
It's very handy yes, but i don't want everyone knowing my favourite porn sites ffs!!

You can change the settings so that your most visited sites don't show up automatically:

Click on the spanner (top left) and then on Options.
Under the Basics tab, click on "Open this page" and enter your homepage.
Then click Close.

This will mean that you get a homepage rather than the grid of your most visted sites.


Also Ctrl + B will get rid of the bookmarks bar.

Aye Dee, Chrome is very good. Much, much faster than internet explorer and significantly faster than FireFox. I like the "incognito" functionality and I have already visited a couple of "test" sites to see if the internet police at work find anything (I'm on a laptop so dont go through the proxy server while away from the office). I also like the spell checker that runs automatically, although it does highlight how bad my spelling is. Mugsey, you have to try it, I think its made for you lol.

The other function I like is the way that the address bar acts as a web page search engine. Very neat.

I'm slowly finding my way round it ...YB sorted out the annoying bookmark thingy now, but i was using the incognito to see how it worked.
I'm really impressed by the speed though, i was getting really pissed off with Firefox being so slow, and don't even get me started on IE!!
Me spelling is pretty good anyway, but yeah can see what an advantage the spellchecker is, especially when you're typing in piratese!!!

Apparently, all the web browsers out there are based on the same type of core programming. Chrome is completely new and is being developed as a new type of "front end". I would expect to see devices coming out in the not to far future that dont have traditional operating systems but something like Chrome. You would then access all your traditional system resources (word, excel etc) online rather than offline. Tis all very clever.....

The only problem I've noted with Goggle (sic) Chrome is that you can't click on all the links in Facebook using it - like when you want to comment on someones status... although I haven't tried that for weeks so it might be fixed now.

You cant watch anything on LUTV either as the licence isnt delivered correctly. I have logging enabled on my install so these type of errors are forwarded to Goggles development team automatically.

ok, well you know how on FB you can change the language? Well if you didn't, there's a button bottom left, where you can do just that, and now they've got one that says "English (Pirate)"
If you change to that you then have a Pirate FB...so, for instance if you make post something on someone's FB it will say "****scribbled on your plank" instead of you've got a message from whoever....

i've found that a couple of the games "hang" a bit when you use Chrome...and it takes me forever to feed me bloody labrador pup!
