Hi Everyone.
I am just about to open up an Oz bank account and was wondering what the best and cheapest way to transfer money over to the new account. I am registered with HIFX which i will possibly use for the bigger transactions but would really like some good advice on good mony transfer companies.
A friend gave me on, which is www.tranzfers.com who only charge £7 per transaction.
Is anyone able to better this?
Thanks
Rob
I think at the end of the day it's whoever gives you the best overall rate including charges Rob. I've registered with HIFX, Tranzfers (who are OzForex) and Currency Solutions.
Tranzfers charges you £7 for the transfer while the other 2 include their charges in the overall rate they give you. At the end of the day it's a case of playing one off against the other and seeing who gives you the best rate.
Beauty with the Tranzfers website is you can get an instant online quote which you'll see varies with the amount.
Haven't got a 'proper' quote from HIFX yet but their website is good for watching the exchange rates (though bear in mind these are interbank rates not those you're likely to get)
Hope it's of use.

Stick with HIFX, they were good for me and they came highly recommended from a friend who works as a City Trader.
He works for one of the worlds largest banks and he has advised me that HIFX are a well respected player. BTW they don't charge you a penny for your first transaction.
