Title: Re directed mail
Description: without an Aussie address

Hi Folks
Trying to tick another thing of the list before we come over. Had a quick look in FAQ but could not see what we are looking for.
Has anyone got any experience of forwarding mail from the UK when you have not got a permanent address in Oz.
Did you set up a PO box (is this easy/expensive to do) or get a rellie to send mail over bulk when you did get settled or is there anything else that can be done.
Cheers
George & Lynne

If you already know where you'll be living then you can redirect it to Poste Restante to any post office as long as you have the full address details.

I'm going to have all my mail re-directed to my parents house & once we have an address out in Adelaide they can send them on to us ( plus they have to pay postage :lol2: ) :D

Hi Candice,
Just out of interest...did you need an australian bank account to do this (I was told you did) ?
Thanks,

I got something sent to me at Poste Restante while I was on a reccy in June. All the post office needed was some ID.

We travelled for a year after we got married and used Post restante all over the world, its great and very easy. It also means people without computers can keep in touch straight away.
:D
