Title: Mending flyscreen

Elaine - August 23, 2005 06:37 AM (GMT)
Is there an accepted way of mending a small tear in flyscreen mesh? We have a tear which was actually caused the day our stuff was moved in over 18 months ago, I keep thinking I ought to do something about it  It's in a V shape with a right angle corner, about 2 inches long each side of the V.

Hi Elaine

not sure about mending, but I have heard that you can buy a length of the mesh and take out the inner frame work to replace it!

(Perhaps an unwanted screen will appear on freecycle)?

You can buy the mesh, rubber edging and roller from Bunnings. Just pull out the old rubber edging from the frame, pop the new mesh in and roll in the new rubber. If it all goes wrong there's a guy who can do it for you who advertises in the messenger. :)
