We have been doing a lot of travelling around the place in the last couple of days but we haven't come across this place.

Blair Athol. The northern part just off Grand Junction Road is a bit rough round the edges but the central/southern part is ok. It's a good area if you need a car - Main North Road is almost all made up of wall-to-wall car yards.

We stayed in Blair Athol when we arrived. What is the address? We were at florence avenue, right up the top next to grand junction road. It was a bit rough round the edges, accommadation was basic but fairly clean. We had 3 bedrooms and there was just the 2 of us. Only stayed 5 weeks before buying house as we wanted to move south.

When we arrived in 2000, we stayed 5 months in Blair Athol. We loved it and met some great people. It's not one of the flash areas, most housing is Housing Trust (council) but we met some great people there.

Living somewhere like this will give you a good grounding in the place as you'll meet all sorts of people from all different cultures, including Indigineous people. We felt it was the best thing we could have done. We got to appreciate the place from the point of view of many different people.

Our house was 50 metres from Gepps Cross Primary School and our kids went there 3 days after we arrived and loved it.
