Title: Hayfever?

probably a daft question, but do I need to get stocked up on meds, as my family all suffer with hayfever, is there a problem with it out there? anyone suffering, or is it sooo fresh and clean and pollen free that I dont need any meds?

I've had a few bad hayfever seasons here. Yes we do get hayfever, there is usually a pollen count alert on the weather after the evening news when the season is right.

Hayfever products are widely available and can be bought over the counter in all chemists - Zyrtec, Claratyne and Telfast are some that come to mind - can't think of any others though cos I am not allowed to use them!

Also worth noting that Adelaide is reputedly the asthma capital of the world.

Hi Laura
We had a thread about this a little while back. The general conclusion was that it depends what you're allergic too and whether it grows around here! There's not an oilseed rape industry round here for example, so you're laughing if it's rape you're allergic too. On the other hand, the people round here develop allergies to the plants - and apparently especially trees as a lot of the tree pollen is windblown - that grow here so you may be lucky and leave an allergy behind.... or you may be REALLY unlucky and develop a new one

WW why do they call it that? What makes everyone suffer with asthma in Adelaide more than anywhere else in the world????

Sasha :)
