Hi guys
Can anyone give me some info on Stradbroke school. Tried to log onto their website but no joy. Where abouts is the school? It seems to be mentioned in real estate adverts?

Well Stradroke school is just near us (and the school my little boy will be going to) Its in Rostrevor, sort of North East to the city.
Its a big primary school but it has a fantastic reputation, mostly because it does the IB programme and its a feeder school into Morialta High School (very well regarded state high school)
I went to visit the head of Junior Primary and I was so impressed with all the extra activities the school does. They play every sport you can think of, have an amazing music programme, sing at the festival hall every year, have art club after school, and lots of support programmes for either gifted students or those that need extra help.
Languages are chinese & Italian. They have camps every year for years 1 and up :loopy:. They also have amazing grounds as they are right next to morialta falls conservation park, they have a strong enviromental programme too.
I met a few of the teachers and one who was on exhange from manchester for 1 year, she wants to stay but has to go home and finish out her contract there but plans to come back!! She also pointed out how kids are much more free to develop their personal attributes rather than worrying about all the tests they have to do.
Class sizes are about 23-25 on average.
Overall even though the school is massive! the facilities are great and you do find the smaller schools have less extra's to offer.

Hi , I have visited the school (went with Gils from Mann Clann , when she was considering it ) It looks a very good school , friendly helpful staff, fantastic resources, IB looks very good curriculum wise and overall we were very impressed with it ! Only downside we could see was the actual size of the school (IMO it was more like a senior school) However this may not be a problem to your kids, it certainly means that the school has access to huge funds !! Which can only be beneficial to the pupils .
