Title: Emergency services

I just thought I'd tell you what came up in conversation at the weekend - if you haven't been here very long you'll either think we're complete idiots not to have thought of it sooner, or you'll suddenly realise it's something you haven't thought of yet either...

We were discussing emergency services with our friends from over the road, and the fact that now I've started work the kids come home to an empty house for a couple of hours. We realised that none of us knew the number to dial for emergency services - oops. Very big oops really :o

We guessed it wouldn't be 999. The kids thought it might be 911. It took our friends to give us the right answer - it's actually 000.

So there you go, at least ours know what to ring now - that is if they can remember to take their keys to school with them so they can get in the house to use the phone when they get home, unlike today when Vicky spent a couple of hours chatting to the neighbours :loopy: that'll teach her!

Elaine,

Never, ever would have thought it was 000 - thanks not something you think of until you need it.

Remember on the really old phones (you know the type with the dial) there used to be 100 for Operator, 192 for directories and 999.

Tracey.
