Title: TRB registration
Description: A question for all teachers

Robinson Family - October 14, 2005 08:13 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone

I am presently putting together my references for my teacher registration in Adelaide.
Is there anyone out there who has registered already?

Could you please let me know how detailed your reference was from your employer. Did you just get a general reference from the head or did you get subject specfic references to support the general reference?

Also for the statement of employment it asks for a copy from your most recent employer. I have always taught at my present school but held different resonsibilities, have you stated all your positions and dates and then had this signed by your head?

I cannot refer to a NOOSR skills assessment because my husband was the main applicant not myself.

I have looked on the trb website but it doesn't really go into detail.

Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks
Andrea

Pip managed to get herself registered. It's taken a very long time though (several months). And you can only get fully registered after you've taken a couple of courses here in Oz. Her reference was from her head, but didn't go into great detail. Just a general reference to say you're not going to kill the kids should be sufficient.

Thanks Pip and And

Thanks for your reply. I have a general reference that my head has done so I will send that with my application ASAP.

What did Pip do about the statement of employment?

Did pip register before you arrived in Oz?

I visited the education department in Adelaide in August, they didn't seem to worried about me doing the courses but like you say they must be completed once we arrive.

Many thanks for your help.

Andrea

Hi Andrea,
you can register from the Uk, but get cracking as it takes a while. the FACS and mandated Notification need to be done before you can work but you can still register without them. You can also apply to teach before you have the courses done but cannot actually start work, and nor can you get a TRT permit without them.

I have just noticed your response. A hectic week at school.

I have all the info I need now to send to the trb so I plan to send it this week.

Any idea on time scale???

Have a good half term

I can't remember the time scale. It was several weeks but I did put my forms in at the same time that the TRB were processing the new graduates. Should be quieter now.
You should also chase them up fairly regularly.

Good luck

Steve
