HI guys i wonder if anyone could assist. We have seen a house that we quite like but amongst other things it would require a new kitchen. Can anyone give me any ideas of a good place to look for reasonably priced kitchens ,or can anyone who has had a new kitchen put in indicate how prices generally compare with the uk.I am trying to tot up how much the various renovations would cost to see if it would be worthwhile puting in an offer.

Thanks .

Sue

We've been looking at kitchens for our rental unit. The best priced kitchen was from Bunnings at around $4500. We tried other companies like Wallspan, Kitchenquick and Uzit but were more expensive.

Hi, don't know how the prices compare in Oz but Ikea's kitchens look great, go together really well and are very good value in the UK.

Might be worth taking a look if you're into a bit of DIY, my wife assures me that Ikea is on Sir Donald Bradman Drive (she can't find her way to the next town over but already she knows where to find Ikea in Adelaide, this aspect of my life is sure to be hell! ),

We have an IKEA kitchen here in the UK. Gavin fitted it all on his own and did a Fab job too I might add.

If we find a house that requires a new kitchen I'm sure that Gavin will be off to IKEA (when it opens/when we get there) to sort one out. They are definately good value over here and I'm sure that they will be fairly reasonable in Adelaide too.

Debbie

It will be but doesn't open till April.

We installed an Ikea kitchen in our first home, did it all ourselves, didn't cost a lot and still looked brand new when we moved out 8 years later. Our new house had a newish (2 years old) kitchen, can't remember the make and it was falling to pieces, we were really dissapointed. Would definitely use Ikea again!

We recently had a Wallspan kitchen fitted (medium sized kitchen) ,new dishwasher, oven, oven top ,fan, microwave ,sink and all the cabinets ect approx $20,000 .

We had two Magnet kitchens fitted in the Uk both times there were problems and poor workmanship but Wallspan were great !!

We just had a wall span kitchen fitted -$13000 not including floor or splashbacks - but does include all appliances - be wary of the offer to take the old kitchen out for you - you pay them directly about $300 for 1/2 and hours work!!! oh and yuo pay kitchen fitter - electrician and plumber on top!! about another 2500. still looks great though :D

....they're not bad are they, charge you to remove it and if the old one is half reasonable they will take it to a salvage yard and be paid for it as well. So my advice would be to contact a few salvage yards and see if they are interested in buying it but you may have to remove it and deliver it to them yourself though.

Cheers,

Jet

We took the easy route and Wallspan did take the old one out but we sold it via the newspaper and made a little bit of money back <_<
