We've just returned from our first ever trip in our tent - we stayed for one night at the Caravan Park in Tanunda.
Pristine amenities, big BBQ area, camp kitchen and grassy sites with plenty of trees for a bit of shade. Brilliantly located for wineries, restaurants etc in Tanunda and only a short drive to Nuriootpa and Angaston. It was quiet, no loud groups or music playing.
We saw possums next to our tent (and heard them in the dead of night!).
We cycled to Peter Lehmann's winery and had a $20 platter for two which was HUGE with a glass of cold rose wine, sitting under the vine covered trellis for some respite from the heat.
Unfortunately, we picked the hottest two days this season - it was 37 degrees in Tanunda by 10 am! Not a day to be out in the sunshine - the temperature crept up to 43 degrees.
Overall though, we had a lovely couple of days - we ate at Vintners Restaurant on the road out from Angaston to Nuriootpa - delicious, but take your visa cards with you...!
