Title: Birth certificates
Description: Visa application

Snappy - June 3, 2004 02:31 PM (GMT)
My agent has said to me that I must make sure that the birth certificates that I have must include both parents name. Is this true?

I have never come across this one before. I only have the standard one for myself so I may have to reorder a full birth certificate for myself.

What did the rest of you use? Talk about the 12th hour to sort this one out <_<

We're starting to stalk each other now

£8.50 in 2 days! OMG I've just paid £27.50 for it to turn up next day otherwise they said it would be 15 days before it turned up!

Yes we did this too! Although I have both versions for the children.

When we'd finished gathering everything for the TRA and Visa application we got more certifited copies of everything - Sure we might need these again.

Might be worth doing if you havene't got copies yet.

Tracey.

Yes you will need full birth certificates for each family member.
You will need to contact your local registrar of births, will cost you only a few pounds each.

I really should read the whole thread before replying

I had a bit of a saga over this issue.

I am legally adopted, but i was adopted by my grandparents on my fathers side of the family, hence i still kept my original surname. After a lot of hassle i managed to get both my original birth certificate AND the adoption certificate, but because my surname was the same on both my case officer first off said there must be a mistake as the names were the same, then when i pointed out why, she said i needed to prove that my new "parents" were really my grandparents!!!!!...well ow the bloody hell do you do that?...i was sooo cross  Anyway...after a lot of phone calls, i spoke to someone else at immigration who told me i did not need to prove it at all!!.... i'm sure this mob are trying to test my sanity

You make me laugh Sean

Thanks everyone, I've ordered my copy but it is £27.50 for the next day delivery otherwise it would cost me £8.50 but that was to receive it after 15 days! So just in case by some smal chance the TRA send us a decision I don't want to have to wait for something else to turn up.

Moral of story to everyone starting out....make sure you have a FULL birth certifcate including your parents names and if you haven't order one NOW!

I've never come across it before Debs that's why I asked if it was true as I've never seen it stated anywhere in the booklets.

Hi Sasha,

You can also go into the registry office where your birth was registered and get a copy on the day, which is what i had to do for me and Kelly (luckily the same office) all i did was fill in a form and wait about an hour, i think the price was still 8.50.

PS as we are going sponsored route we also had to get a full birth certificate for Kelly's dad to show the link between Kelly and her Aunt.

Hello WB (you cheeky bugger!) Glad my post has helped someone else, it isn't something I would have thought of until my agent said something.

Might seem a silly question, but does this include the kids' certificates?

I'd already got all ours photocopied but the kids do not have the parents details on theirs.

I am now re reading booklet 6 to see what else i may have missed.

Snappy - June 8, 2004 12:03 PM (GMT)
I think it means ALL birth certificates Lisa as it wasn't mentioned that just Roy's and my certificates had to be full ones so you had better get the kids full birth certificates whilst you get a chance.

OMG Crisis ALERT!

As most of you know Roy is a Panel Beater by trade but he also is a Plant Operator on the side. I've just found the girls full birth certificates and on Mia's it states his occupation as Plant Operator as I always say the two together if someone asks his occupation so they must have just put down either one or the other!

Do you think this will confuse the DIMIA? I've asked the agent about if we should inform them about the two occupations and he has told me in the past not to as it would only confuse the situation.............HELP! :o

Sasha :)

PS my new certificate came through the post today :bouncing smiles:

Snappy - June 9, 2004 10:43 AM (GMT)
Having a mare of a day just something else I didn't need to come across!

I'll be panicking now, me and my big mouth!

Sasha :)

xxdebsonlinexx - June 9, 2004 10:44 AM (GMT)
sasha dont worry if you wanted roy to be assest as a panel beater then thats all they need the info about if you wanted him to be asesst as a plant operator then you tell them all the details. my marraige cert has kev down as a mechanic as thats where he started off from school i emailed tra and they have said that we dont need to include anything about him being a mechanic so it should be ok what you have sent of :cool shake:

debs xxxx

Snappy - June 9, 2004 10:50 AM (GMT)
My only problem is though that Roy at the time of Mia's birth was a panel beater so if they look at that date then it looks like our dates don't match up if that makes sense? I just hope the info we have sent to them is enough for them to see we're not lying about it. I could always alter his CV so that it shows his job includes working on various types of machines......aka plant?????? as in machine operator / plant operator after all he has to work those jig things or is that stretching it a bit?

I just don't want anything to cause confusion and therefore dragging it out any further.

Sasha :)

xxdebsonlinexx - June 9, 2004 10:53 AM (GMT)
why dont you ring up about seeing if you can get their birth certs changed tell them that you have only just realise they have made a mistake ?? :(

Debsxx

Snappy - June 9, 2004 10:54 AM (GMT)
Do they do that? I always thought that once it was issued you couldn't change the details on them. I might ring up and see though.

Sasha :)

Snappy - June 10, 2004 08:19 AM (GMT)
No they don't. Never mind after talking to Roy last night he couldn't understand why I was so worried as we have the proof that he was working as a panel beater back then so I just hope it doesn't confuse them and cause any further delays.

Sasha :)

I sent off a copy of my small birth certficate (Jan) but have since been to see a tarot card reader, who told me that there will be problems relating to a big move and that i would need to have a full copy of my birth certificate. Me being the gullable one went straight to the local registry office, handed over £7.00 waited for 10 Mins and then hey presto, there was my full certificate. will just have to wait and see now if I get asked for it
