Been here a week already & we are loving it !

We had a good flight & I recommend the Transit hotel in Singapore but make sure you book it. We landed in Adelaide 9.05 am & it took an 1 1/2 hrs to clear customs, slow wasn't the word !!

We were met by the meet & greet people, Rebecca & I went in their car & Stephen & the other 2 children went in a taxi which was paid for by the government.

The OAA acommodation....what can I say..........CRAP ! the house is in a lovely street but talk about dated & not so much dirty but it could do with a good clean ! the cooker is absolutely filthy & I wont cook on it, so we seem to be living on take aways !
The beds are clean & the matresses seem new, the bathroom...uch ! enough said I think.

We hired a car but have since bought a new ford territory but we dont pick it up 'til Thur. Stephen has been all round the marinas with his C.V & has got an interview tomorrow :sign03:

Rentals are few & far between & some are so dated, stuck in the 1940 come to mind. We have put in a couple of applications & should hear in the next couple of days.

We went to our first BBQ on Sat courtisy(sp ?) of Dawn Piemash, we had a fab time & even met a few Ad/brits, so thanks for that Dawn :love29:

The weather today is HOT ! but we have had some rain.

So that's my first post. I'll keep you updated on how we get on :D

Did you go through the RED or GREEN channel?

I'v heard if you go through the RED then it can be quicker..ie just take some bread or pills with you to declare.

Good to see your lovinit..particularly having read 5 pages of moans and groans a few pages pages back.....oops perhaps I shouldnt have said that..

PS, We go through red every time, declare yogurts and a few chocolates. 20 minutes tops.

Great to hear your settling in ok ,A weeks gone by fast wow. So how are you coping with the heat? Is it hotter than you thought.
Its got to be better than here Borneo working in the jungle !! But at least we have a connection to the internet although not too fast !
The weather here is a bit like Singapore very humid, too hot to work in.
