Hi

I searched around the schools section and have also checked out the website for private schools. What Im really looking for is recommendations from you all, please! Can you tell me what private schools have an excellent all round and academic record in the Flagstaff Hill and Hallett Cove areas, and even further afield? We are certainly not ruling out State Schools at this time, indeed we know there are many excellent ones...we just want to look at all options!

We are in Blackwood and our son, Callum goes to St. Peter's. There are some from the school who live in Flagstaff Hill, just 5-10 mins away.

Callum just did about 6 weeks there before the end of term but we cannot praise it highly enough. They have a fabulous Principle who runs a very tight ship! and I have never seen such a motivated and dedicated group of teachers. Callum has come on really well and learnt more in 6 weeks there than he did in a full term in Scotland. There is a big emphasis on reading and writing and he has two reading books every night for homework as well as new words to learn each week.

The school is also very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. A play date was arranged before Callum even started school so that he (and us!) would know people before he started. There are currently only about 150 children but the school is developing and will have a capacity of about 300 (I think!) over the next few years.

Don't know anything about private schools, can't afford it with 4 kids!!!! but my experience of state schools in hallett cove have been good so far.

2of my kids go to hallett cove east primary and my eldest is at the R-12
