anybody know anything about this part of adelaide, i am aiming to go to the south of the area and have been looking at houses in the aberfolye park areas and surrounding areas , but whilst looking at houses etc , found that burton seems extreemly cheap for new houses , is this because it is a poor area or just because it is up north, and not as popular

G'day Charlie,

Burton is set on Adelaides nothern plains. Since the late 90's there has been quite a lot of new developement in the residential areas of Burton, part of the Salisbury Council area.

Burton has a mixture of industrial, agricultural and residential properties in its catchment. Its just off Port Wakefield Road about a half hour drive into the city during off peak traffic times and has good public transport access. About half an hour drive from reasonable swimming beaches the likes of Semaphore etc.

Perhaps the only down side I could see is its location to the Bolivar Sewerage treatment plant, if the wind is blowing in your general direction and sometimes the mosquito population can be a bit thick at times.

Here are several links that provide more details about Burton and surrounding areas including available businesses and services.
