Title: One year on

steve the pom - February 2, 2006 02:45 AM (GMT)
Have just noticed its almost exactly 1year give or take a minute since I landed in Oz to start a new chapter in my life,Just trying to figure out where the last year has gone as it just seems to have gone by in a blur ,have done so much since arriving ,buying our cottage in Lyndoch +plus virtually redecorating it and making a few minor changes ,sorting out the back garden all one quarter acre of it , setting up my own small mobile car detailing business plus working in the vineyards, picking ,pruning etc ,all in all I have'nt had time to think about whether or not I miss the UK although people have asked that particular question I guess I would have to say no I don't and really have no plans at the moment to go back there ! so all in all I reckon I am well and truly settled now and looking forward to tseeing what the next 12 months brings. :) :P

Great to hear that your first 12 months have been enjoyable, Steve. The Barossa is certainly a lovely area and I am envious of your position. Enjoy the next 12 months and nice to see another proactive post may there be many more.

ditto, great to hear from you Steve. You certainly have been busy and obviously have been having fun and enjoying your cottage. We left Sittingbourne just over a month ago and beleive me your not missing anything in Sheerness!

Let us know how your wine turns out :cool shake:

I've been here 15 years on the 10th Feb. Time flies!

I must start to work on getting an Aussie accent.

Having been through Lyndoch a few times I can see why you are happy. I would love to live there but the 45 min drive to work puts me off at the minute. Perhaps in time I will make the move... Good luck in everything you do mate!!!

What a lovely place to live we visit the Barossa quite often we love it there, like to visit our favourite wineries, stay in Tanunda and , Nooriutpa ( not sure if I got that right ) The Vines good for a meal, we will visit there again over the next few weeks, to show my sister the sites
