Delboy,

from what i saw when we were there, was that they are exactly the same, just that the plus and minus are at opposite ends.(ha,ha)

Nice Kev, well i said it was a stipid question.

Spose we will just have to turn all our battries round then.

or get some upside down torches.

So many things to do so little time. :D

Sorry to raise the tone of the thread :P

But just thought I'd let you all know - when you are packed the packers will go through your stuff with a fine tooth comb and remove every single battery they come across. I had a box with maybe 75 AA batteries in it that we ended up giving away to friends with several kids!

MR mover here serious ,voice . The reason we don.t recomend ,you store or transport battries is, If they "Kack them selves in your shipment" they make a god Awful mess................. <_< MM

jules - June 10, 2004 10:35 AM (GMT)
Hi

looks like you've beaten me to it MM.

The shipper I phoned also said that, if an appliance turns itself on - it might cause burn out!

They recommend you take the appliance and/or batteries in your hand luggage!!

Jules

Shipper did not say anything about batteries but to be honest I don't think there is much if anything with batteries in I m sure hubby will tell me we have loads of stuff with batteries. So thanks for that.

jules - June 10, 2004 11:00 AM (GMT)
Hi Sarah

have pm'd you!

Elaine - June 10, 2004 01:55 PM (GMT)
....didn't think we had that much with batteries in either, don't know where they all came from really - we certainly haven't bought many here to replace them all :P

rach_red2003 - June 10, 2004 07:11 PM (GMT)
On the way over they didn't remove all the batteries but when the movers came to pack us for the trip back they removed all the batteries, like Elaine said it's surprising just how many we had (mostly kids toys).

Changing the tack a bit, if you are taking a mobile phone make sure you either buy an australian plug as soon as you get there or get a travel adaptor before you go as you will prob want to charge it straight away. Also for all the everyday things, hairdrier etc you may have in your hand luggage.
