Description: Great diabetic shop

I have found our dream shop!!.. i know theres at least one other member here who is diabetic but i cant remember who it is!..(sincere applogies)

I went to the Diabetes SA head office in Sir Donald Bradman Drive today, to register with them. This entitles me to cheaper testing strips, needles, blood testing machines and many other items too.

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!...biggest and most pleasant surprise of all was the shop they have with wonderful stuff i never seen before...even homemade diabetic biscuits which are sugar free. I had a taste and they were lovely!! umpteen selections of sweets, cakes, jellies, custard, ALL SUGAR FREE!!...woohooo!!

They also do a lot of savoury fat free stuff too. Even pasta??..huh?... never mind..i'll ask about that next time i go... maybe its a low carb version

Anyway... any of you who are here or coming, go take a look. Its a great place.

I forgot to add the huge range of sugar free drinks too... you non diabetics will not understand how boring and frusttrating it is everytime you go out your only choice of drink is diet coke or water!!..

At this shop they have loads of different sugar free drinks..i have just samples a brand called Saxbys. I took a cherry beer and also a lime flavoured one..both are very very nice. I feel like a kid at christmas now :bouncing smiles:

WEll done PP!
I enjoy Saxby's ginger beer, though it won't be a sugar free one.
Also, when I'm out, I can often get diet ginger beer (Bundaberg). Normally I avoid the diet drinks, but the diet ginger beer tastes much nicer than the ordinary!

Thanks for the info PP. My husband Eamonn has already been in touch with you about diabetic related issues. Your replies are making us feel less anxious about that aspect of things. Our heads are buzzing with last minute bill paying sort of things. :what?: We have ordered extra testing strips to take with us. Due out on the 1st July, keep up the good work, it's really appreciated!!!
