Hi folks,
I'm currently contemplating broadband, and got some stuff in the junk mail from
http://www.iinet.net.au/, which seemed a reasonable deal.
Has anyone heard about them/using them?
I wouldn't want to change my e-mail stuff etc, just to get stuck with a crappy service, (like I did with ihug!)
Andy
Hi Andy
we just got broadband using a company called Nuclearday. Dont ask me why we went with them as Bill (the puter nerd) did allt he research...somethng to with the unlimited offer they do or something like that..i'll ask him when he gets home.
[SIZE=7]Hi folks
we're just getting broadband through telstra for $70 unlimited and very high speed through cable. Its more than the uk but the research i did all pointed to this deal. You also get 5% off your telstra phonebill or 10% if youve got foxtel (which we've got)or telstra mobile as well.We use the computer alot so this is good for us plus our families in uk have broadband so we can use msn or yahoo messenger (which will be faster and clearer)as if making a phonecall at no extra cost. Also uptp the 31st jan you get 2 months free and free modem and bits. Can't wait. :)
See Ya DAZ :D
Is the telstra deal for unlimited downloads?
I've heard that the telstra small print on downloads has caught quite a few people out and left them owing lots of money for going over their limit.
The deal I saw gets you up to 6 gig a month...after that, you're not charged, but your speed drops to 70kbs.
You also get a free modem.
256kbs was $49
512kbs was $59
Also, if you sign up for your phone, and spend $20 a month on calls (international/national/mobile), you get $10 off your broadband cost.
It sounded like a good deal, but as I said, I don't know anyone who is with this company, or what their service is like etc.
Just thought I'd ask if anyone was using them :D
Andy
ps, I would never use telstra......way expensive.......there was a time when you would pay the extra to use them to be sure of quality, good backup, etc. However, since the palava they had with their internet service last year, I wouldn't do so now.
(only my opinion)
Hi
Have a look on www.broadbandchoice.com.au for a complete list of isp's, plans, reviews and comments.
Here in Marion we have found the phone lines are too old to take broadband, but it looks like we can get cable broadband. Telstra is the only offering for this unfortunately so no choice to be made there!
We'd have gone with TPG if the phone lines were up to it.
