Title: Brighton Caravan Park.....
GabrielleR - April 30, 2006 05:59 PM (GMT)
Hi. We are booked to come to Adelaide for the first two weeks of August (I know it's middle of winter, but just the way things have worked out!). We have been looking at the possibility of booking accommodation at the Brighton Caravan Park - and we were wondering if anyone else has had experience of staying there - especially in August??
Any advice welcomed.....

HI Gabrielle
We started out at Brighton Caravan Park 2.5 years ago - but in November. We had a deluxe cabin which was excellent for us with 2 kids - one room had 2 sets of bunks in it so they both had top bunks  .
There is heating and cooling in the cabin, Peter the proprietor was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us, and we were very happy there. It's right on the beach but you won't be swimming in August - but you can still walk along there on a sunny day and enjoy it. It also has a small playground for kiddies, free bbq's to use, and a coin in the slot internet machine in the laundry.

Not stayed there.
But only found out where it is yesterday, it's not in Brighton!
And what a gorgeous spot, with a kiosk right by the beach .. We walked up to Brighton jetty along the beach and OMG what a trek, what have they done to the beach! It was high tide so we had to mountaineer over all that new sand!
Don't know what it's like in the winter, but can't think of a better site to set off from!

Thanks for the replies folks.
We are due to fly out from London 1st August, arriving Adelaide am 3rd Aug with Singapore airlines. We have booked to return from Adelaide 15th August (however, if we have sold the house and got job possibilities the plan will be not to return to the UK!!!! :sign03: !!!).
Would be happy to meet up with anyone out there at the same time!
Elaine - thanks for the info - you certainly make it sound a lovely place! We've got three kids - 2 girls and a boy - do you think we will cope for two weeks in the accommodation you stayed in!!!????
We are very excited at the prospect of coming to see this city we have read so much about - and maybe even to meet some people we feel are our friends now!
Thanks again,

You just need to take them out all day and wear them out, then let them potter on the beach for a bit (kids don't care if it's not sunny, they can still build sandcastles :P ) then you'll only be in the cabin for a bite to eat and somewhere to kip.
Hey, look what I found in the dusty old photo banks

Thanks Elaine that was great. Really good of you to go to all that effort for us. Everyone agrees the accommodation looks great :)
Now all we need to do is get on the website and get something booked - hope they're not too busy in August!!
Thanks again,
