Title: Doctors
Description: Any recommendations?

Hi everybody! :D
Does anyone have any recommendations for doctors in the Southern Suburbs area. Not too fussed how far from home they are, as long as they are:
1. Good
2. Friendly (I have white coat phobia!)
3. Not too expensive
They don't have to bulk-bill, as long as the consultation fees are not too high, and they're very good at what they do.
I have to make an appointment for myself and Miro for follow-up care for his leg and don't even know where to start.... :(

I've always been very impressed with Moira Gallagher at The Hub Medical Centre at Aberfoyle Park. She is very easy to talk to and I have found her to be very competent. Mind you, the practice does not bulk bill so a consultation will set you back a gap of about $30. Phone 8270 1577. The surgery is not actually in the Hub Centre, but is in the road with the petrol station on the corner, opposite the hardware store (and next to the pub!).
My sister in law swears by the doctors at Tripoli Rd, Happy Valley(in the little shopping centre there). They have only just opened their practice and so it shouldn't be too hard to get an appointment. I believe they also bulk bill. Sorry, don't have their phone number.

We go to the Marion Domain medical centre. They do bulk bill, so nothing to pay just show your medicare card each time you go. You might see any one of several doctors, but we've been happy with everyone we've seen. They have no appointment system - you just turn up and so long as you don't pick a peak time the wait is usually not too long. They also let you know the expected wait so you can go away and come back later if you choose - and if you've missed your call, they put you to the top of the pile to be seen next, so it works pretty well.
Should you need x-rays, scans, blood tests etc they are all done there at Marion and often immediately. We find the whole setup very good and convenient.

Hi
Ive not long registered with the Hub clinic, and the lady doctor wasnt taking on any more patients. I still joined tho, with another doctor who was the only one taking new patients ( cant remember his name) but yes, its about $30 a shot, and no probs so far

I go to Marion Domain, like Elaine, as my family GP moved there from Morphett Vale when it opened. I went there this arvo at 3.30 and was seen by my doc of choice within 10 minutes. I have had to wait up to 3 hours to see him before though, so sometimes choose to see another and they have all been great. There's docs from all over the world there ..... even a Pommie one and he's lovely - gave me some of his Fox's Glacier mints when I visited one time.
Perhaps the best thing about Marion Domain is it's opening hours. All day, every day. 7am - 10pm weekdays, 8am - late on weekends and public holidays (not sure of the closing times on weekends) There is often a queue on a Saturday morning though, waiting for the doors to open!
