Hi I am new to these forums.
Wishing to go to Adelaide through SIR scheme.
How much do you pay for a Visa agency to help you ?
Is £1800 without DIMIA fees etc ok ? :sign09:

Hi
I think the best person to contact is Alan Collett. He is a migration agent and appears to be very popular with many peeps who have used him on Expats forum and offers a lot of free and helpful advice both here and over there.
If you go to our members list search out his name and send him an email i am sure he will help.

Hi there,
Just hijacking my wife's account to post my tuppence worth but I'm sure SWMBO won't mind.
Many (but not all) applications are quite straightforward. Rather than paying for a full package we paid for two consultancy sessions - one at the beginning of the process to make sure that we had the points and plan out all that we had to do and then another at the end to go through the paperwork checking for mistakes and ommissions prior to submission.
Total cost £70.
I'm not denigrating agents here, most are extremely good (although you will inevitably hear some horror stories) and Alan Collet who has already been mentioned has a very good reputation (We're hoping to go to him soon for some pension advice) but in most cases it's not actually that difficult a process. Frustrating, time-consuming and infuriating yes, but not difficult.
Cheers
Perry

We've used 1st Contact in London and they are superb. Including VAT their fee is £1762...so far worth every penny and will be worth their weight in gold if we get our SIR visa!!!! :loopy:

We did the online points test at liveinaustralia.com this was free, we then used them for an assessment of how easy/hard it would be getting into Oz with the pionts and trade that we had. We paid £70 for this and was told that our case was straight forward and that we could do it our selves so long as we were comfortable in filling in forms etc. Glad we did it our selves now because like you say £1800 is about the norm for agents fees.
If however you feel that you would benefit from using an agent Alan Collect comes highly recommended.

we would also recommend Alan Collett, as we did & we're here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can't comment on fees as we were under different visa class (I think) & so fees may be different.
