Have scoured the site for any details on Blackwood Primary, without any success. So if anybody has any experience of it, I be grateful :D .

Hoping to be out there some time this year, as oon as the house sells!

Cheers Carol

Blackwood primary school

My son attends Blackwood primary. PM me if there's any specific you want to know. It's a very good school, in my opinion, with an excellent headmistress.

As CCJJ mentioned...both my daughter and son are at blackwood primary. They have settled in and have lots of friends. It's a lovely school in a wonderful setting being next door to Wittunga botanical gardens....the zoo snooze was great fun.
Shirley.

hi Carol,
my eldest sons both go to Blackwood High School, not the same i know, but just thought i'd let you know that they have settled so far really well. I have heard a lot of great reports from friends i have made over here about the primary school. Just for the record our 6 year old son goes to Coromandel primary school (not far from Blackwood) and it is fantastic...we are so happy, he is getting great support and has for the first time ever told me and hubby that he loves school!! :sign60: he's even going on an overnight camping trip near Christmas (which i dont like the idea of..but have been told by hubby i need to let him go???!!) Good luck with your decisions, i personally feel here that the schools have so much more (for my boys anyway) than the schools back in the UK. At coromandel there is sometimes a koala in the playground and parrots and ducks roaming the grounds, massive slide and play area and a creek running down the bottom of the grounds...it is truly beautiful and i have no regrets about choosing this particular school. take care,
sylvi

Hi Sylvi,

Thanks for your thoughts, it's good to know that you are impressed with Blackwood High school, as that seems to be the main high school in that area. I don't want to be in the position of settling in an area but having to move in a few years to get to a decent secondary. If we weren't emigrating we would have to move in a few yrs as the secondarys in our catchment area are dire!

I have also heard good reports about Craigburn Primary, so intend to visit them both when we get there. I will probably check out St Peters Lutherian as well, in Craigburn Farm.

Thanks again for your reply

Regards Carol
