Hello all

Im interested to know what Gawler has in way of housing, schools amenities etc..

and in general would it be a suitable place for an old un (46) on her own..

i know topic is subjective but what the hell...let it out if needs be...

Don't know that much but my rellies who are also emigrating love it and are moving there for definite. It's got a great school apparantly and housing looks affordable. We're going to have a look at it on our reccie.

im getting there...went into work today to pick some stuff up..first time driving..god did i ache when i got home...tablets seem to be doing the job.

Ive passed Gawler a few times and think it looks like a place where id like to settle...but then ill go where i can get a job.

as for being old at 46..ive got a crook back so am walking like a 80yr old..lol

All things to all people...

Heart of the Barossa, nice town with good shopping, reasonable facilities and a good all-round reputation.

A lot depends on work of course. Commuting can be a bit of chore if you have to come into the city, but access to the northern suburbs is good.

I could never live there - for the simple reason that it's home to my favorite restaurant in SA. Kate and George at The Wheatsheaf produce some of the best food I've tasted and I'd end up eating there every week if I was too close!
