Anyone know what Berri and surrounding areas are like. I know its on the Murray river and surrounded by lakes but little else.

What facilities are there, can you swim in the river, does anyone on here live there?

Might be working up there rather than Adelaide itself so would be grateful for any info :love29:

Hi

My great friend - have written to her for 27 years lives in Berri and seems to like it. She is involved with all kinds of local committees etc although she has young children. Haven't been there myself though.

As far as I can make out there is sufficient things to do there and it is only about 2 1/2 hours from Adelaide.

There is a local paper www.murray-pioneer.com.au - sorry must learn how to do fancy links.

Any more info and I will email her for you to get more info.

G'day,

Berri is a quiet town on the River Murray, the population seems to explode in the summer months with many Adelaidians travelling up that way to holiday. The town is close to Bamera and not too far from Renmark and Paringa, other larger townships located in the Riverland. Oh and yes you can swim in the river amongst the many other water based activities.

Here are several links that may help with background information on the area.

Hope those help.
