Flinders Park is an up and coming area due to it's location of halfway between the city and beach.
There are not to many new developements happening in the suburb but block subdivision is alive and well due to close proximity of the city and large residential blocks. The suburb was first developed in the early 1900's and redeveloped again post war for accomodation of returned servicemen so you will find quite a lot of traditional character homes the likes of Arte Deco through to Cape Cod style homes.
The population of Flinders Park has a high percentage of Italian and English residents, 75% of residents own their own home.
There is plenty of supermarkets and shopping malls within close proximity of the suburb and it is serviced by a good network of buses.
This link will provide more information on the area in question and also covers surrounding suburbs too
