i am applying to the University of SA to study radiography. could anyone tell me if i will have to pay for my daughters' schooling snd if so how much is it likely to be

Yes you have to pay for your kids if school age
I think the amounts are $3600 for primary and $4500 per year for state schools. More for private.
But you have to prove that you have $8000 just for education for each child for your visa along with other living expenses.
I have just applied for course at Uni of SA and Tracey of Tracey&Wayne is already studying over there.
Good Luck with your application

thanks that sounds ok. i have filled my form in and an going to post it on Monday. my husband and 9yr old will definitely come along, my 19yr old is going to apply to study there too i think, the 17r old is waiting to go in the RAF so will not be coming and then last of all my 15yr old will, i think finish her education in UK as she is profoundly deaf and is at a residential school. this should work as my husband works for himself so will split his time between Aus and UK

Our daughter went out a head of us on a student visa we had to prove funding for the whole of her four year couse some $85,000 so be warned. I am returning her to oz next week 01/08/04 and looking forward to her then being an ordinary student and hopefully paying no fees for the rest of the uni year.

Amanda - If your daughter will be classed as an International Student she will also have to prove she has access to funds to pay for course and living expenses.
You usually have to prove that you have access to a certain amount of money when you apply for the VISA - depending on your course - you can try the step by step process on the www.immi.gov.au website and it will tell you how much money you have to prove and how much you have to declare you have access to.
You usually need to prove schooling fees available and living expenses for all children under the age of 18 and your course fees and living expenses for you and husband even if they are not travelling with you but you can sometimes appeal this.
I sent my application in on 07/07 and had acknowledgement on 20/07 and am still waiting to hear if I have been accepted - hopefull one day next week :sign03:
Good Luck and maybe we will see you over there!!!!!
