Things are getting very close for us now so I pulled out the paperwork on the meet and greet service that we intended to use. The only problem is that you have to give them six weeks notice before you arrive. Our problem is we won't be able to do that. Our house has been sold but we don't have an exchange date yet, and our flights are dependent that date as well. I sent an e-mail yesterday to tell them that the most we would be up to give them would probably be about three to four weeks and I asked if there was anything that they could do. I received an e-mail back from this morning saying that they are very busy at the moment and they would definitely need at least six weeks notice. But they have sent me some information on a short-term accommodation. They have said that they will inform me in writing, whether it is available within four weeks of our arrival. Four weeks, plus the time it takes me to write to them is going to be greater than four weeks and that's cutting it very fine because I don't think will have four weeks notice of when we're going to arrive.
The short-term accommodation options they have offered us are two caravan parks, backpackers accommodation in Glenelg, and the Aman Apartments and Gurny Lodge in Gover Street.
So, bang goes our little safety net of 12 weeks accommodation and the meet and greet service. If anyone intends to use this service beware that ideally, you need to have about 2 months notice of your arrival date. Something we can't all do.
Hi Steve
Please can I have the website for the Adelaide Meet and Greet service?
Thanks
