debsim - July 29, 2004 08:47 AM (GMT)
Hi
could anyone tell me how much money we are looking at to take our Labrador over to adelaide.
Is it the larger the dog the more money?

Dont forget you also have to pay the quarantine costs, plus any costs getting him ready for the trip (vaccinations, microchip etc).

Are you over there right now?
Do you know the costs of these things that i will have to do?
Thanks in advance for any info

hi Debbie from what i have read in another forum is that they are putting their prices up so im not sure how much it will cost but i would of thought about 1500 was about right that doesnt include quaratine or microchips the best thing to do is ring some places and see if they can give you an idea of how much everthing will be then you will know how much to put away for him. we are not going to find out yet as we will wait for the outcome off tra first
hope this helps

Hi Debs
Thanks for the info about the dog.
I'll tell you something, i wouldn't fancy having the bill for your flight tickets with all of your brood. What do you do you and your hubby do for a living?
and do your kids come to this site.
I think mine would like someone other than us adults to talk to about this major move.
My eldest Holly who is 14 isn't too keen about the move but as i told her she can always come back to England when she is old enough to make her own decisions.
But once over there i'm sure she will change her mind about coming back
Debbie :)

Hi Debs
Teaching Assistant is what i would like to do but in Luton (that is where i live) it is really hard to get a job like this without any qualifications.
Don't know whether it is just the town that i live in or if it is the same everywhere else.
But teaching is what i want to do when we get to Adelaide.

Hi Debbie i have done the teaching assistant course and its still hard to get a job here im doing voluntry at the moment i did think of doing a teaching course but i think i would wait till we get to oz. i love working with kids and seeing them achieve their potential. i work with years 1&2 at the moment so hopefully when i get out there i can do some voluntry work and hopefully it might lead to a job i know its hard to get into schools but im willing to give it a go.

Debs, it was ladyhaye who arranged the flight and quarentine.
It is my estimate for the whole cost of taking him, this included quarentine fees, vet fees, and transit from melbs to addy.

Hi Debbie
We are taking 2 lge dogs and a cat over with us so have researched this well.
Just be aware that there is no quarantine kennels in Adelaide so make sure you either got a door to door service or have the transport to pick not only your dog but his travel crate up too from Melbourne. You could also arrange to have him flown to Adelaide and pick up yourself from there.

:dancing dog: Hi Debs, I am also in the process of what it will cost to get our black lab over to Adelaide, there is no way we could go with out him. :(
I learnt a lot reading responses to your posts thanks. :thumbs up:
I have a fourteen year old called Chelsea and she would love to find someone to talk to on here, her sign is honeybunny. :bouncing smiles:
We are planning to be out to Adelaide by end of year, what about you guys.
We live in Wiltshire, where abouts are you
Cheers Nicci,
