Hi

Help .. I can not get into the chat room - I have tried down loading the 'Java' also both suggestions you quote and still I can not get in.

What could this be..... any ideas would be great.

Can you describe what you see when you try to enter the chat room.
do you see the loading bar or Java logo?
What Browser are you using?

Hi Delboy, when we click on the Chat room link the page starts to load up then we get a Java page with a Java icon saying somthing like "click here to get the latest version." This we have done gone through the down load process, had the install verified, been congratulated by Java on getting the latest version. Then gone to the internet options(advanced tab) to ensure we have ticked the Sun Java/VM options, applied this, rebooted and hey presto when we click on the chat room icon it brings up the Java download Icon again, and again...Any ideas

Dont know if this is the page you went to or not but have a look anyway.

I dont think im going to be much help really as you seem to have done all I would have advised.
Do you have Java web start in your list of programs ?
I guess it could have been a bad download, this has happened to me before when using the automatic install.
If I was you I would go to add/ remove programs and remove Java.
then go here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and select the windows (OFF LINE INSTALLATION)
which seems to be much more reliable, save it somewhere on your pc and then execute / install from there at a later date.

Let me know how you go, although im not sure I can be of much help.

By the way its a 16MB download so if your on Dial up you might as well go out for the day :D
