Title: Making a Will
Description: -I'll try again with this
Top_Bhoy - December 7, 2006 10:18 AM (GMT)
I'll try again with this...I couldn't double post to 'bump' up my last post...which is now sinking faster than Watford in the Premiership :o
Has anyone with interests in the UK+Oz got experience of making a Will so that it will be effective in both countries so that it gives people as little hassle as possible and as there is as little tax burden as possible, on my demise.
Who's the best professional to see, what to do,...etc
All assistance/pointers appreciated.
Hopefully I may get a few more replies this time! Surely I can't be the first person to want to do this :D
PS I got my PR Visa granted on Monday :sign60:

I think you are going to have to spend some money with a solicitor.
Unless properly drafted wills made in SA are not even recognised interstate let alone overseas.
Seek a bit of advice mate.

I know..thats what concerns me. Hopefully it will be straight forward even though I have stuff in both places. Through time, the intention will be to bring it all here but who knows whats around the corner!!!

There is an interesting thread on the 'dark side' you may wish to take a look at...
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread....highlight=wills...but all it really reiterates is what Dougie has said, best advice is to seek a legal opinion.

Cheers Jet....the one thing I took from that thread was that nobody knows for sure :D
A lawyer it will be....
