Title: CHECK LIST
Description: On Arrival in Adelaide
dazandjanesthelens - December 7, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
Hi,
well things flying along at the minute. House sold, moving out next week. Fights booked, Singapore Airways on New Years Eve, landing 2nd Jan. New Year, new start as they say!!!! Working our way through the never ending list of things to do before leaving. Lots done but much more still to do.
The "list to do" was printed from a thread placed on Adbrits a while ago. I was just wondering if there was a basic list of things to do on arrival in Adelaide??????
Heads cabbaged at the minute with everthing that is going on and emotionally, cant wait to get on that plane!!!!!! Bring on Adelaide, :yeehah:
Thanks in antisipation,
Daz and Jane.
PS: Anyone else flying from Manchester New Years Eve, 10am???????

First off - chill out and relax! Don't rush headlong into making any drastic decisions.
In terms of the practicalities (and in no particular order) with the exception of this one which should be amongst the first.
Buy a UBD Street Directory (unless you already have one)
Finding a place to live.
Arranging a rental car - then buying one.
Medicare (though you have to wait 10 days after initial entry)
TFN
Bank Account (opening or activation if you've already opened one by post)
Check out where you might want to live
Check out Schools (though it's summer hols!)
Start spending money - your bank account will appear to develop a hole.

Yes I remember your family :)
Phil and Amanda (Splorge) flew back today after 2 weeks here. It was great to see them although quite sad to say goodbye to them too :(
Our friends live quite near to Scarborough Beach. We are really looking forward to our holiday there.
See you next year sometime.

Hi there,
We are in the same boat as yourselves, flying out of Manchester on New Year's Eve, and needing to get our heads around what to do when we arrive. The replies here are really helpful, so thanks to all.
I guess we will see you at the airport or on the plane. We will be the ones running after our kids and looking stressed :)
cheers,
Ian and Lou
