Erm... not far from where we used to live in Marion, an ok place I reckon though my only personal experience is of going there for a Tupperware party once

Hello,

We stayed at this OAA but at 4/2 Oak Ave, when we arrived in Adelaide in Jan 2005. From what I remember.....

It was clean but basic 3 Bed property. No air con, and we experienced a few days at 38!! but we coped. Kitchen has basic cooking utensils, pots, pans and plates, cutley etc. Large fridge/freezer, dining table and chairs, small 3 piece suite.

There was a phone installed in the house with instructions for a very easy connection.

Not to far from Marion shopping centre within walking distance about 10-15 mins down Sturt Road. There is a train station very close by, but trains didn't run after 6pm or at weekends (the line is/was mainly used for Mitsubishi factory workers). There is a small grocery shop round the corner at the top of Oak Ave, for papers, bread milk etc.
Ten mins to Brighton Beach in the car.
Near to Flinders hospital and university, and on a very good and easy bus route for the city, either South Road, or down at the Marion Bus Station.

We had no problems at all while we were there it was a fairly quite area, and we met people who had just emigrated over like ourselves.

I seem to remember that Annette and Marius also stayed around this area perhaps you could PM her she might remember more than I.

On the whole it wasnt a bad starting point, basic clean and within easy reach of everywhere you feel you need to go when you first arrive,

Hope this helps
Bev
