Title: Citizenship Payment for kids??
janandrob - January 17, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
Hello Everyone :D
Well the dusk has kind of settled after our Interstate move and we are looking to become Citizens (before the new test comes in) :yeehah:
Now I've looked on the official Gov web-site and in the 'FAQ' here and still can't see the answer :loopy:....and I'm too scared to ask on BE
The Question is:
Do we have to pay $120 each for the kids too? or do they come under our Australian Citizenship in someway?? 3 kids are U.K born, last was born in Australia.
It also says it's only $85 for each additional applicant on the same application???
Please help....my one remaining braincell can't cope  :P

There is no charge for children under the age of 16 years, apparently you can just add them onto your application, see the link below..

My children were added to their dad's certificate when we did IT back in 1993. If I remember correctly they cannot have a certificate in their own right until they are 16 years old, and if they wish to get one then they will have to lodge an application and pay the appropriate fee.

Yup, thats what happened with us, we just added them onto Nicks application.
And they both received their own certificate the same as ours.

My kids got their own certificates too - however they are not official ones, just ceremonial. My son has the proper one now as he applied for it when he was 16, daughter still has to get hers.
