Title: Couriers
Description: For documents
l.milling - February 8, 2007 01:21 PM (GMT)
I need to send some documents and don't want to use International signed for this time.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a courier they have used. It's just an A4 size envelope but I want it tracked and signed for at it's destination not just when it gets into the country.
Thanks in anticipation
Lesley :)

Hi Lesley,
I'm not sure who you should use... however do not use Parcel Force!!!
We have just sent our VISA application form off Using Parcel Force - Global Priority which should be trackable all the way to Adelaide... and signed for. After paying £46.... it has not been trackable and Parcel Force are not sure where it is!!!
(Sorry to anyone who made have read this story before)
Good Luck
Doug
UPDATE - My parcel has just turned up on the Parcel Force tracking system... in 7 days it's got as far as Heathrow Airport !!!

Hi Lesley,
We've used DHL a couple of times and had no problems. I dropped it off at their depot (i think they can collect), the lady had a quick look through it all sealed it up in an envelope thingy and off it went. On the plane that night and we could track it on the internet all the way and see who had signed for it in OZ.
The hardest bit was paying for it - at £50 not cheap ouch! :(
Good luck
Linda :D

We used InterParcel - www.interparcel.com - they actually use DHL but much cheaper than going direct. Very impressed with their service.

We used interparcel as well. We rang DHL and got a quote then contacted interparcel and they were almost half price.
Then as Lea said DHL turned up and took the parcel.
It took about 5 days to arrive and we could trace it all along the journey until it was signed for at Processing Centre.

Just remember not to put a value on the paperwork. Our meds and X rays cost us an extra 50 pounds in tax, because this happened. The surgery put down the cost of the medicals and X rays as the value on the paperwork and Aussie customs impounded them until we paid. It took us ages to get to the bottom of why they had held them and if you don't pay they destroy them.
