anyone been to sydney?
well i went in feb 07. i booked my hotel online, it said lovely 3* hotel in nice location....that nice location happened to be the middle of the red light district in kings cross...big mistake :S me and my friend showed up there, i had a skirt on and she had some of them short short things, something that in any other place would have been totally respectable, but not there, the amount of dirty looks we got oh my god....

anyways i spent the rest of the weekend in a pair of addidas trackys trainers, and a hoody, and i wouldnt go out on my own....it was pretty scary but it was an experience, and there was pleanty of english people there for some reason lol :S dont know why coz all there is there is hookers and junkies....bit like london...lol just kidding

anyone else got any sydney experiences?

Didnt find Kings Cross scary just thought it was funny with all the lets just say unusual sort of people there, I wouldnt walk around there in flip flops though with the amount of used needles about......nice!!!

Spent a few years there......miss it more than London TBH :(

The Cross is a mecca for newly arrived backpackers who've all heard on the vine that it's the place to head for from the airport. There's a lot that are underwhelmed by the experience and vow to leave the next day, but then they stumble on a quiet little place called O'Malleys :lol: ........

Got back a month ago and i loved every minute of Sydney. I thought it was much more laid back and felt a million times safer than the London i have visited.
Loved The Gold Coast, Port Douglas, Melbourne etc too ......


miss them all now though
