Description: Are the games compatible with Oz?

Hi all

Just another one of those silly questions that needs to be asked.

Do the games from the UK and Oz work on the same machine or are the on different regions???

:sign20: Sam me and hubby were having this discussion last night whether or not to take the games consoles (2 X-boxes, playstastion 2) with us cos if you cant buy any games there which are compatible may as well sell it here then buy new there!!

If I remember rightly, there's some sort of software you need to put into the Playstation 2 - to make it multi-regional!!

We think they had it in the old Argos catalogue, but it's not in the new one.

We brought a chipped PS2 and not had any problems. Don't know how a standard one would go though....

We've noticed some of the games in the shops over here are the UK version which would seem a little odd if they are incompatable with Aussie PS2's. We haven't tried any of the Aussie games in our UK PS2 yet but #2 son will shortly rent one as an experiment. We'll post the results.

We have rented many games for Geoff from Blockbuster for his English PS2 and they work fine.

But not all DVD's will play on the PS2
