Title: Gang of 49
lynsteve - June 21, 2007 09:11 AM (GMT)
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5006301,00.html These bastards should be locked up for good, far too many doo gooders these days. This young kid was innocently driving his car, got rammed by a stolen ute and nearly died, lucky to end up with a broken leg and arm. tough s**t for the bozo in the stolen car who died, the other one should have died aswell, then we'd be down to 47.
Stevo.

Stephanie Lawrie, aged 18, high achiever at Sacred Heart, planning a career as a journalist, cousin of the driver.
Somebody's daughter, cousin, sister? aunt? niece?
unfortunately will never be anyone's mother or grandmother
Bozo?....dunno....will never know her
lynsteve - June 21, 2007 09:40 AM (GMT)
She should have known better then, but guess we'll never know.

Are they called the Gang of 49 because there's 49 of them, or is it Gang of '49 and maybe the Head Honcho was born in 1949?
Also I heard that the family of the girl that was killed have threatened dire vengeance on the 17 yr-old that was driving, bet he hopes he stays in hospital for a while yet.

she wanted a lift home, and perhaps was not aware he was going to be driving at 150k plus......
justsarah - June 21, 2007 08:02 PM (GMT)
exactly andy...
At leat the other victim in thecar hasnt paid with his life eh..
justsarah - June 21, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
dont believe all you read in the papers stevo.. how do you know the girl even knew the jeep was stolen? She may have just been an innocent victim like the other driver.... dont judge so quickly i think.... ultimatley she could be your teenager ( or mine)
a sad tale i think......
:(
justsarah - June 21, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
A cousin of mine offered me a lift from a family wedding 2 weeks ago.. he had a nice new car too....
couldnt tell you if it was stolen though...
or if he was in a rush.....
lynsteve - June 21, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
So what about the cops who put their lives at risk chasing these d**kheads nearly everyday, what about the ambos and firies who have to pull them out, what about the nurses and doctors that have to care for them,
I have NO sympathy for for the passenger in this car that got killed by the dichhead of a driver. So she didn't know if it was stolen, yere right, the driver had been done many times before, so what did she think, "oh he must have been a good boy and bought it the night before." Get real he was a cousin, she knew exactly what was going on.

I think its sad that anyone had to die but i do believe in what goes around comes around.
The girl made a choice of getting into the car she must of known it was stolen like Stevo has said he is welll known for just taking cars. She made a bad choice and paid with consequences (sp). The only people who can tell us if she knew for deffo that the car was stolen or not is her cousin and the other passenger.
It might make them realise now that what they do can also bring great sadness to their own and not just to the innocent bystanders.

if the car wasn't stolen, would she still have deserved to die?
xxdebsonlinexx - June 22, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
That is a good question sean as she had no control on how fast her cousin was driving. It's all the cousins fault for the accident as he decided to take the car in the first place would he of been speeding if the car was his ? who knows. But at the end of the day she chose to get in most probably knowing it was stolen.

I really hope the family of that girl never get to read any of this - whatever she may or may not have done she was someones daughter. Lets hope none of your kids ever end up in a bad crowd or make a bad judgement call.
bubble - June 22, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
So who can look back on their teenage years and not find at least one error of judgement or bad call?
Sadly, this kid will never have that chance.

mmmmmm not one reply about the poor innocent driver who ended up with a broken leg and arm, perhaps if it had been your daughter or son that got hit, i'm sure the replies would be different. Or if your loved ones were robbed by these 49, the replies would be different. I know if it was my kids i'd be banging on his cell door

Completely agree with Lynsteve on this one i'm affraid.
justsarah - June 23, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Am with trac(E)y on this one. She didnt deserve to die, the guy didint deserve his broken leg etc, and to say you have no sympathy for her is a bit harsh stevo... As tracy said i think no-one is an angel, we have all probably been in situations we now regret.... she cant.
However i dont know, you may be faultless stevo....

but life is cheap.
justsarah - June 25, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
I dont disagree stevo that the boy driving was as guilty as hell, and as the risk taker it would be a fairer end if he had gambled and lost his life he should have still been behind bars etc etc. But the girl was a passenger and didnt nick the motor so you could also argue that if the law had done its job and kept him locked up then he wouldnt have been able to kill 1 and injure another.....
the blame game goes on......
lynsteve - July 25, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
MMMM so where they all gone now??
Stevo.
pompeyblonde - July 26, 2007 06:19 AM (GMT)
I feel the "death penalty" is rather harsh for getting into a stolen car.....This person was a human being not an overpriced piece of tin on wheels!!
dougie - July 27, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
personally, I couldn't give a @#$% about any male dead in the stolen ute - idiots off the road. feel sorry for the young lad in the other car. do have slight sympathy for the girl that died - wrong place, wrong time just like a friend of mine who died in a car driven by her moron boyfriend 20 yrs ago.
