Tap Doctor's wife - August 16, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
Please !

Oh - The tap doctor is classed as self employed ;)

We are trying to get a mortgage and we can/t !

Lee has never been self employed untill we came here but has always been in his trade 14 years !

Anybody else in the same situation and been able to get a mortgage and who with ?

Thanks

Try the link and you will find someone depending on the purchase price & the loan you want (most have a limit of 80% borrowing) (even Adelaide Bank do them)

I work in mortgage collections and believe me it's not that simple and 20% deposit is not that easy to get together when you have only been here 12 weeks and had to buy everything outright !

Just wanna buy a house !!!!!!!!!

Ok, try Wizard Home Loans - I know for a fact that they accept Lo-Docs after 2 days in business (need a deposit).

I appreciate everyone is different and things change but this is what we did 4 years ago.

We had just come over from UK and I didnt have a job, however as I had previously held a decent job in UK the bank let us borrow the money for a mortgage as they thought I would get a job soon. We had to put money in a bond as a guarantee, so if we couldn't afford the mortgage payments they had that as a guarantee. When the bond matured we kept the mony plus the interest.

My wife did have a pt job as well, but I think they would have leant us the money anyway.

The bank was HSBC. It so happened I got a job between applying for the mortgage and the money being needed!

Not only will my bank (credit union) NOT consider me for a home loan until I have been self employed for at least two years, they will not consider me for a personal loan, car loan or any other type of loan either.

Been there, done that, remain renting!

Hi
Got a mortgage through the loan arranger with ANZ - no jobs at time. Classed as self- employed and only had to be self employed for one day to qualify. Needed an ABN number but we got that no problem. Good luck

We are in the same boat, our bank (savings and loans) wont even take my self employed earnings into account.

But they are willing to loan us $180k on the strength of my wife's earnings and a 50% deposit at a rate of 7.69 fixed for 5 years.

Give Wendy Perry a ring at Smartline 08 8384 1275 or email wperry@smartline.com.au
Im self employed also and was refused by Westpac as id not been self employed long enough.Wendy sorted us out no probs at all with a great deal and a good interest rate, with the CommonWealth.
Cant speak highly enough of the service she gave us and she is extremely efficient at making sure everything goes through ok.

Best of Luck

Mark

We had the same problem when trying to get a mortgage but as we are in WA and we are on SIR visa (unheard of at the time), nobody would borrow us. We got knocked back by commonwealth, anz, wizard, rams, westpac, bankwest & nab and we only wanted to buy land. Eventually we went through a broker and managed to secure a loan in January with HSBC with a 20% deposit and 1000 loop jumps, but they sold out to first mac as soon as we signed on the dotted line and that kind of put us off abit so we started looking again last month to refinance with someone else and firts time of asking anz said yes. All you need is thatone bank to give you a break and the rest will follow. Try a broker as they have so many options available to them

Goodluck

Babs :D

I recommend Ben Higgins, mortgage guy linked to brock harcourts...

He is fantastic...he got us our original mortgage a year or so ago....when no-one else would touch us..

and we have just used his services again...which involved quite a tricky deal...
