Hi Janey, i've had a look on the country educations profiles website (you do have to pay $45 to get access). There doesn't seem to be any information on level 2 nvq's, it only shows info from level 3 onwards. sorry i can't be anymore help. See below for what information there is on NVQ's.

Cheers

Mark

Section 3 - National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ), Technical and vocational education, Assessment guidelines, United Kingdom

Until 1997, the National Council for Vocational Qualifications (NCVQ) was responsible for NVQ awards. Since 1997 the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) has had responsibility for NVQ awards. The logos of the respective Councils appear on NVQ documentation.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority has responsibility for SVQ awards.

* The guidelines in this section apply to certificates marking the award of a completed NVQ or SVQ.
* The levels refer to the five levels of the original frameworks.
* The guidelines do not apply to Certificates of Unit Credit marking the attainment of individual units within an NVQ or SVQ. Such certificates do not mark the attainment of a complete NVQ or SVQ award.
* The guidelines do not apply to other qualifications that are listed in the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) database at a specified NQF level.

* These assessments refer to comparative levels of achievement only, and do not refer to specified competency requirements for AQF qualifications or National Training Framework Training Packages, as these can be determined only by the relevant Australian assessing authority.

1. An NVQ Level 3 or SVQ Level 3 qualification is assessed as comparable to the educational level of an AQF Certificate IV.*

2. An NVQ Level 4 or SVQ Level 4 qualification is assessed as comparable to the educational level of an AQF Advanced Diploma. Note: At the time of writing, NVQ Level 4 was within revised NQF Levels 4-6.*

3. An NVQ Level 5 or SVQ Level 5 qualification is assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Graduate Diploma. Note: At the time of writing, NVQ Level 5 was within revised NQF Levels 7-8.

Hello I just sent you a pm. Well its not in spelling thats for sure.
Beauty Therapy,
Now if there's any more mistakes with my spelling I will from now on blame it on "your bottom"

Hi Janey,

If its VTCT qualification it’s not recognisable here, they only accept city & guild & ITEC. Hope it helps you, PM if you need any help.

Hi,

Now i'm having a nervous breakdown :crying: , I have NVQ's 1, 2 and 3 in hairdressing all VTCT accredited but NVQ's never the less, does this mean they won't be recognised? I was teaching CIty and Guilds and there is no difference in what skill set you need or paperwork that needs to be completed other than it is worded diffrently!

Nikki
