hopefully all members should have received the following e-mail from the team here at Adelaidebrits, (assuming the bulk e-mail function works.....)
in case it doesn't.....

I am writing to inform you that the current Adelaidebrits website will be undergoing a number of changes over the next few weeks. The initial phase, will be changing over to the new forum at http://www.adelaide-brits.com. This new forum, although looking familiar, has many features that are missing in the current forum, including..... the holy grail....a working search engine!!! There are lots of other new features that should make posting and reading on the new forum a much more pleasant and efficient experience.
Now the bad news......
We have been unable to "port" information across, so all members will have to re-register for the new board.......this is a simple, pain free experience, and essentially the same as when you initially registered for the current Adelaidebrits.
Secondly, all of the old posts will have to remain with the old board....However, all of the topics within the new "reading room" have links to the corresponding topics from our current FAQ, under the label of "archive"
The current forum will remain "open" for the next few weeks, but eventually, registrations and postings will be suspended, leaving it as a "read only" archive.
Finally, this is a "work in progress", so there may be initial bugs that need sorting. However, there has been a period of testing already, so hopefully none will be discovered.
Over the coming weeks, further developments are planned, which will further enhance adelaide-brits.com.

head to www.adelaide-brits.com and dive in......
Once registered, look in the top right hand corner of the forum and find the "FAQ" button. Clicking this should tell you all you need to know about using the forum, but any problems give me or one of the mods a shout

Oooh i'm looking forward to the search engine! I didn't get the email by the way, so thanks for posting it :D
I've just registered, i'm now Liz and Martin, I thought I'd better mention him even though he never posts :lol:

unfortunately the search engine won't work in the "archives", (as always), but as we continue collecting new information, all that will be searchable.........
I have a feeling that the "bulk e-mail members" bit of this forum is possibly as functional as the search engine bit of this forum.
:sigh:
Hopefully the message will get around eventually.......

nope.....was hoping to tell everyone, but I guess now is as good a time as any to find another function that doesn't work :rolleyes:
As I said.....both sites will be up and running for the next few weeks...

The bulk email came through this morning. Unfortunately it said;

The error returned was:
That message does not exist
Never mind, I'm sure most people will see this thread!

Will we be able to read our stored PMs after this site shuts down?? I have lots of useful info from helpful people stored up which I wouldn't want to lose. I'm sure other members are the same.

The site will not close down as such.....all the info will remain and be accessible.
Just that no new registrations will occur, no new postings in any forums, and replies to old postings will also be switched off.
it'll be like the Marie Celeste.......... :lol:
