Hi all,
We used to live in Coromandel Valley, a very pleasant spot around 18k's SE from the CBD.
It's quite an old suburb with a rich history that you can read
Here if you wish.
It's quite a hilly area, so many houses are built with steep driveways and lots of retaining work. However, it also means that many houses have very pretty views over treetops etc. There is a lot of wildlife here, and koalas are not an uncommon sight.
The area was very agricultural up to quite recent times, although there are still lots of orchards around the place.
There is basically a couple of shops, a vets, butchers, a motor repair place and a pub, although Blackwood is the next suburb along, which has all of the amenities you would need.
It's a very quiet place for most of the time, and there is not a lot of crime.
It contains one primary school, views of which can be seen
HereIt has lots of greenery, which is nice in spring and autumn, but not so great in summer, when the possibility of bushfires is around.
It is about 20-30 mins to the nearest beach and about the same to the city. Marion shopping centre is about 15 mins away.
All in all, it's a top spot
Andy
