In fact, the whole experience of dealing with doctors and medical issues seems so much more tolerable than UK.
Doctors smile when when they see you, and even get out of their chair and come get you from the waiting room.... (never had that in uk!!)
You are not treated like an imbecile but an intelligent life force
referrals to a specialist couldnt be simpler..hand over the request to the receptionist and she faxes it through direct to the specialist at the hospital and you wait a few days for your appointment!!
I had my blood test results back today and the GP spent nearly half an hour going thorugh the whole damn lot explaining EVERYTHING on it and what it meant. (ok..so he might as well have been telling it to a horse as i didnt understand much..but at least he tried!!)
You are also given a complete print out of everything the doc receives from tests and specialist to keep for yourself at home.
I like Aussie docs!!
WOW amazing. Like you say, the difference between being a human and being a 'case'.
Sounds too good to be true in fact :happy03:

Hi PP, yes I visited the Domain Medical Centre at Marion last week and although I had a wait of 45 mins the Doctor I saw was very helpful and didn't cost me a cent because in most cases they 100% bulk bill.
There's lots of Doctors at the centre and the wait wasn't too bad as I sat near the tv and watched one of the morning shows that was on. There's also a x-ray facility which also bulk bills so if any of you need to go get an x-ray Domains the place to go.
A dental clinic is also on site and I've been told they aren't as expensive as the other private ones.
Juls :sign11:
I can't wait! Sounds daft I know but you all know my feelings on seeing the GP over here.
45 minutes??? Juls, I have to do that over here and that is with an appointment that was booked a couple of months previously!
