Hi all,
Currently in Southampton at the moment visiting relatives so not been on here for a while - well around a week but seems like ages!!! :D
Well, we arrive in Adelaide on Sun 2nd May and are going to stay with my husbands auntie ( :sigh: ) for that night, gonna go out first thing on Monday 3rd to look for a property to rent if we find one on that day how long would it take before the estate agents let us move in?
Ideally wanted to be out of his aunties by the wedesday is that possible or would it take about a week for the paperwork to be done, deposits paid etc?
Thanks,
Becca
Assuming that you find a place straight away, the following things will apply if you are to move in straight away.
a) it will need to be already vacant, or the tenant will need to vacating that week.
B) the agent &/or owner will need to be satisfied with your references/ability to pay.
If both of these are satisfactory then you need only pay two weeks rent in advance, plus four weeks rent as a 'bond' (which you will get back when you move out, minus any costs incurred for damage) and you can move in immediately.
It also depends where you want to rent, for instance the vacancy rates in the southern suburbs are less than 2% at the moment so finding the right house might take a little while. You might have to stay with Auntie for a week or two!
