It's what will be the official browser for the DS.

Here's the link for the desktop version. http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/

They also have mobile and mini.

I havent seen enough info to decide if I need this, or if I should try it out.

Not that I saw. I think it's just a download. It's 4.6MB

Im d/l it now. I'll see what it's all about and report back. ;)

Well I can say so far it seems to be a bit faster than Fire fox as far as the scrolling goes. it doesnt load as fast, but that because its new.

I did find one feature that's pretty cool. The wand. It remembers passwords so now I dont even have to type in my name to login. I just go to AO and hit the wand and it signs me in. Sweet. :) I may get used to using Opera.

It also tells you how many images are on a page when it's loading.

What I dont like is the light highlights it makes when I drag something to copy. I almost cant see what Im highlighting.

I like it alot so far.

I like how I dont have a home page set, so I can close the browser and open it up to the page I closed it on. Unless I close the tab and then the browser.

I recommend checking it out as an alternate to whatever you use now.

Like I said before, the wand is the best feature so far. It's almost like having auto login.

It does take longer than Firefox, but that's because it's larger...I think. :P

Also keep in mind that this is the browser that will be compatible with the DS.

Well I found that there are a ton of other themes that I can set Opera to that will change the things I didnt like about it.

I've never really taken the time to set preferences on a browser before.

So far I give Opera a 7 out of 10. 7 only, because there's a ton of stuff that I had to sign in to again, and it doesnt cooperate with Bittornado very well either. It has it's own download system that uses my BT, but doesnt give me the options, but I think there was a setting there that I skipped that I shouldnt have.

Again, try it out and compare it to IE and Firefox and any other browsers you use.

I know I already mentioned it, but one ofmy favorite features is that you can close Opera and open it back up to the page you left on.

That really came in handy when I was using multiple tabs and closed the whole browser thinking I was using Firefox.

I think you'll both like it.

New version just came out too, so you'll have the most update version available.

Wel a problem I seem to have run into is with the mouse wheel.

I cant seem to scroll left and right when I press down on the wheel. I can still go up and down, but no lateral movement. I only experienced this here at AO.

I dont have this problem with Fire Fox or Internet Explorer. Not sure what the deal is there. Must be a setting.

4th Noun - August 15, 2006 04:20 PM (GMT)
Well I was right, it was a setting. I just had to set the webpages to fit to width. Now anything that is too large to fit in the regular post area is automatically adjusted. :)
